When you have a calling in your heart to do something for God — whether it is an offering , some kind of service , or doing good to someone out of the love of God , for example helping orphans or the oppressed with whom you have no blood or family relationship — do it for God without expecting thanks from people or from anyone.
Knowing that it is from the Lord Jesus Christ that you will receive the reward .

But many people do these things with a carnal attitude , and the applause of men becomes their reward . Yet this kind of reward guarantees nothing for you in this life or in the life to come.
Serve Christ with all your heart , first to please Him, and for the reward that will come only from the Lord Jesus Christ , even if He may use people near you or far away to reward you materially .
This also means that you must do this work with excellence .
